Chop - Audiovisual sampler

Chop is a creative tool for composing audiovisual loops.  

Sample the ambient sounds in your environment, create hypnotic nonsensical loops, or record beats to a tempo.

Whereas typical methods of video editing are static, Chop offers an alternative process which is live, free-flowing, and dynamic.

Chop is all about layering sights and sounds over a repeating loop. Once your base loop is set, additional video recordings override while audio recordings add. This simple set of limitations provides for a novel creative challenge, one that rewards spontaneity and abstract approach.

Stuff you can do with Chop:
- change filters by swiping the camera feed
- switch cameras by tapping the camera feed
- record a loop by pressing and holding ‘rec’
- pause or play by tapping the playback view
- scrub to different points in the timeline
- layer audio, video, or audio-video recordings
- double the length of your loop
- set the volume for the most recent audio recording
- undo new recordings or reset the entire loop
- set a tempo and record with a click: the resulting loop will be clipped to the last downbeat before the recording ended
- export your loop to your camera roll
- start fresh with a video imported from your camera roll
